Summer Mountain Gondola
The Nevis Range Mountain Gondola – it’s not just for skiers.
Throughout the summer, the little carriages transport visitors up Aonach Mor so that they can have all the benefits from 2,150 feet up, without all the hard work. Stunning panoramic views over the Scottish Highlands wait at the top. You’ll look out over Ben Nevis, the Great Glen and on a nice day you might even see as far as the Inner Hebrides.
And there’s plenty to do when you get to the top too. From Saturday 15th July right through until 13th August, the gondola will be open from 10am – 9pm. You can go to one of their popular summer ceilidh nights any Thursday or Friday evening, and on Tuesday nights they’ll be putting on Scottish beer dinners, whisky tastings and gin tastings in the Snowgoose restaurant.
During the day there’s plenty to do as well. Their Tree Adventure ropes course is open daily from April till October, and on Easter Sunday you can make your way up there for the Easter family fun day.
If you’re planning on sending some postcards while you’re here, there’s a post box at the top that pops a little stamp on to tell your friends and family that you sent it from Scotland’s highest post box.
You’re more than welcome to bring along your pooch for the ride on the gondola, and they’re wheelchair accessible too. Sometimes they have to close due to bad weather so it’s always best to check that it’s definitely open first.
