About the Ballachulish Hotel

Tea in hand? Good, let’s begin…

Ballachulish Hotel

Our roots have been firmly planted in Ballachulish since 1877.

Crackling fires, heart-warming brew and food for the soul (not forgetting the stomach) is what we do best. Simple.

You can find us on the shores of Loch Linnhe, a stone’s throw from some of the world’s best hikes, distilleries and castles. Step outside. Breathe in. Out. Go. Our corner of the world may be small, but there is nowhere else we would rather be.

A little frayed around the edges, but never boring, we have been welcoming travellers through our doors for generations. Explorers. Soul searchers. Time seekers. All stepping from their world into ours. Oh, and Diego the cat.

Did you know…

The architect behind Ballachulish Hotel, John Honeyman, took on Charles Rennie Mackintosh as his apprentice. Mackintosh later became lead designer and eventually bought the practice when Honeyman retired.

Present day…

Both Ballachulish Hotel and our sister hotel, Isles of Glencoe, joined Crieff Hydro Family of Hotel in 2016 after two years under their management.
